Tucked away in on the back of a canal, this new Gold Coast project exemplifies the perfect blend of a modern homestead’s warm wholesomeness with modern coastal charm. Our client’s vision was clear from the onset- a timeless design that felt both fresh and classic, appealing to families, especially those with teenagers.

The selection of materials played a vital role in achieving this vision. After careful consideration, masonry blocks were chosen for their strong bracing capacity, allowing for large open-span living and raked ceilings. The resulting floor plan boasts four ensuited bedrooms and two fully separate living spaces, each thoughtfully isolated from the master suite. Considering the awkward shape of the block, innovation and creativity led us to solutions that embraced the sites unique characteristics.

One of the standout features of this design is the internal courtyard. More than just an architectural solution to bring light into the deeper parts of the building, the courtyard became the soul of the home, offering natural light throughout. Through a lengthy conceptual design process, we were able to achieve an exceptional space, embracing the atypical land shape and using it with purpose to accentuate the design.

Outside, the landscape was harmoniously integrated, reflecting the aesthetics and lifestyle of the occupants. Inside, the well-planned areas provide room for independence but also spaces where the family can come together.
